Pro-angler Ott DeFoe just picked up a weekend victory at the Bass Pro Shops Northern Open, where he caught the tournament record fish, weighing in at 24 pounds, 1 ounce. DeFoe now wants to give back to his community by hosting the Second Annual Goodwill Bass Tournament on June 21, 2014 and he is giving one lucky angler the chance to be his partner for the event.

Anglers interested in fishing with DeFoe for the tournament can bid for the spot in an online auction. The winner will spend the day with DeFoe, able to pick up tips and tricks from the 2011 Bassmaster All-Star Champion. The auction listing can be found at The winning bid will include entry into the tournament; proceeds and DeFoe’s share of the winnings will be donated back to Goodwill Industries-Knoxville, Inc.

The Second Annual Goodwill Bass Tournament will start at safe light on June 21 on Douglas Lake, the very same lake where DeFoe just reeled in his win, with a grand prize worth $1,500! The registration fee is $100 per boat; anglers may register any day from now until June 20th at 4:30 p.m. Late registration is available on the morning of the tournament for $125 per boat. Departure times are determined by order of registration.

Proceeds raised from this tournament will support Goodwill’s mission of providing vocational training and employment opportunities to individuals with barriers to employment.
